I suppose the question might as well be, what haven’t you done? I mean, she’s gone out in public with no panties (more than once), driven with her child in her lap, dropped her kids, shaved her head, and countless other things. Girl, what the heck did your Mother do to you???

In case you haven’t heard, the latest is that she refused to give her kids back to K-Fed last night, and the police were called and then an ambulance took her to a hospital for a drug and alcohol test, as well as a psychological evaluation. (ok, need I say it’s about time someone did that!) But anyway, according to TMZ.com she’s on a “‘5150 hold,’ meaning there’s evidence she’s a danger to herself or others”. Again, no surprise, but sad just the same.

Some people have told me that they don’t think it is her Mother’s fault. I disagree. Obviously, Britney is now a grown adult, even if she doesn’t act like one. However, it just seems like maybe if her Mother had not pushed Hollywood so much, and spent more time nurturing her daughter(s), things might be different. After all, Britney isn’t the only one with problems, little Miss Spears now has her own being pregnant at 16. Poor Jamie Lynn - the cards are stacked against her with a sister like Brit.

So I wonder, what kind of Mother was Lynne Spears? One who got both her daughters into “the biz” at an early age, from Louisiana no less. Obviously she sought fame for them, but why? For herself? For her daughters? I guess only she knows. I wonder how she feels about the choices she’s made now… Even *if* Britney was the one wanting fame, what young child doesn’t at some point want to be a singer, dancer, model? And even if she had the talent for it, (which most of our kids don’t) I still feel strongly that it’s a parents job to do what’s in the child’s best interest, making sure their career doesn’t spin out of control beyond what a child is emotionally able to handle. Did Lynn Spears do that with Britney? I have no idea. Britney Spears certainly isn’t the first child star to spin out of control as an adult, so maybe that is just par for the course. If that’s the case, there is no way I’d choose that route for my child. But of course, that’s me. And I’m not part of the Spears Family. I’m also not interested in fame, crazy amounts of money, fancy cars, and the like.

So, what do you think? Do most parents like Lynne Spears really get kids like Britney Spears into showbiz at a young age because it’s in the best interest of the child? Or do you think it’s for more selfish reasons? Do you feel that a parent of a starlet is then responsible if their child turns out to be a mess like Britney is?

Well, back to the news - it’s like a train wreck. You’re embarrassed to be interested, but at the same time you just have to know. Brit, you poor thing. I feel sorry for you. I wouldn’t want to be you for any amount of money.
