Easy Ways to Save Money

If you are like most people you like to save money. There are some really easy ways to do it that you might not be aware of. Here are my favorite links to programs that make it simple. I use all of these personally, and find them very helpful! :)

Upromise - Turn your everyday spending into college savings
This one is so simple, you just register your credit cards, debit cards, and grocery savings cards. Whenever you buy a participating brand or shop at a participating location your Upromise account is automatically credited. Friends and family can join and declare their earnings for your child(ren) as well.

MyPoints - Earn Rewards for shopping online, reading email, taking surveys, and playing games at MyPoints. This one is also really easy, and legit! I’ve been a member for many years, and have lost track of how many gift cards I have earned. At Christmas this year I got two $25 ones to give as gifts. You earn points by reading advertiser e-mails and clicking to view their site. This is pretty much all I do, but you can also use their links for your shopping and earn points that way too. When you are ready to redeem your points there are tons of gift certificate options in different amounts. So far mine have never taken more than 10 days to arrive. I love
MyPoints and use it almost daily!

CoolSavings is another long-running program. With CoolSavings you register and then can print different coupons to use while grocery shopping. I like this one too, but admit I often forget the coupons I’ve printed at home! HAHA

The Entertainment Book. You’ve probably heard of it, but if not, it’s a coupon book you purchase that has coupons good in a select area for one year. Most are buy one get one free at restaurants, museums, putt-putt, and more. This book pays for itself in two uses, and we buy at least one every year! Even if you don’t live in a city big enough to have it’s own book consider getting one for the closest city you travel to. Also, don’t forget to get one for your family vacations. It is worth it’s weight in gold for those! If you buy them after the new year you can get a great deal - right now it’s $10 off and free shipping. Get $10 off and Free Shipping when you purchase the 2008 Entertainment Book! Run, don’t walk and get a book for wherever you are traveling this year! (note - coupons typically expire in November although some will go until December)

I hope you enjoy some of these programs, I love them all!

Thoughts Inspired by Pearl Jam

Gosh - today I realized something. I’m old.
Ok, not old like what most people consider old, but old enough when I turned on my Sansa MP3 player and my favorite Pearl Jam CD from my youth came on I thought to myself “wow - how’d I ever listen to this”? Then, “God Bless my parents […]

I’m Smart, Really!!!

Today something interesting happened. Well, kind of. At least I thought it was interesting.
I spoke with one of my best friends who usually volunteers with me in our sons class once a week. We go in and test the kids on spelling words they have missed in the past. Yesterday she couldn’t make […]

Substitute Teacher Associate/Aide

For those of you who don’t want to go back to work, but are interested in getting out of the house a little I might have an idea for you. Call your school districts administrative office and see if they have substitute teacher aides or associates. I didn’t even know that existed until an e-mail […]
